Julio Fonseca, Piano and Keyboards
Julio Fonseca is a graduate of Catholic University with a degree in Music Composition. He has been a professional musician for over 40 years in a variety of settings including classical music, Big Band, Top 40, Church, Ballet and Jazz. He was an organist for over 5 years in a number of Washington area churches. He has accompanied Mark Forrest, International Irish Tenor in performances in Chicago, New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles. During the late 60’s, and throughout the 70’s, Julio was a member of several local groups including Bentwood Rocker, Leo, and the well know Second Coming Show Band. He’s been a regular performer at some of the finest hotels in the area including the Willard, Ritz Carlton, Embassy Row, Washington Court and the Hyatt Regency.
His close association with Street Life members Glenn Scimonelli, Paul Scimonelli and Charles Thomas has over a twenty-five year period produced many memorable occasions providing music for wedding receptions, galas, and concerts. Street Life performed with the Jefferson College choir in Philadelphia and provided live music for over 17 years as WMAL radio's in-house band during it's annual fund raiser for the Leukemia Society.
Mr. Fonseca is an experienced ballet accompanist, having work with such luminary companies as American Ballet Theater, Dance Theater of Harlem, Joffrey Ballet, and Mark Morris. He is also an experience Piano technician of twelve years and a member of the Guild. In 2001 he completed his training as a massage therapist and is nationally certified. He has 1 daughter, Alicia and 2 sons, Nick and Brandon from his marriage to Carol.
